Admissions

Admissions

Applying to our courses is easy, and we’re happy to answer your questions about admissions and eligibility.

You can apply at any time of the year, but it’s best if you’re fully enrolled two weeks before your course starts. Our MRS Advanced Certificate courses start in late August and January. Our MRS Diploma course starts in late August each year.

Before you apply, please review the eligibility and language criteria below, and check that you can meet the technical requirements. Candidates may incur additional charges if they need to retake exams, resubmit coursework, or defer their studies. Please take the time to view and download the full list of additional charges.

We aim to process all applications within two working days. It may take longer if we need to verify any previous qualifications.

MRS Advanced Certificate

You’ll need to meet one of the following criteria to ensure you can succeed on the course.

  • More than three months of market or social research experience, ideally with involvement in all aspects of research projects and/or some training in research methods
  • MRS Certificate in Market & Social Research or other training in research methods, e.g. via an undergraduate degree or at A Level/college level
  • Satisfactory nomination by your employer, if you don’t meet either of the first two criteria
  • Satisfactory nomination by your course tutor, if you aim to take the Advanced Certificate alongside an undergraduate degree
  • Demonstrable academic achievement at A Level or higher (please contact us for details)
  • Satisfactory interview with the Research Academy admissions team

You only need to meet one of these criteria, not several. When you apply, we’ll ask for proof of any relevant qualifications and may hold a short interview with you.
