Technical requirements

All students have full access to our online learning environment.

All you need to access our online learning environment is a PC, laptop or tablet with a good internet connection. It also works with most smartphones. No extra software is needed to watch the recorded tutorials, making it easy to catch up if you miss a class.

Written coursework needs to be submitted in MS Word 2007 or later. If you’re a Mac user, you’ll need to save your file in a format that is compatible with Office 2010 (.docx).

If you plan to take an online course, you’ll need the following in order to participate in our live online tutorials:

  • PC or laptop (no tablets or smartphones)
  • USB headset with a microphone (this needs to be a proper USB headset, i.e. one that has a microphone and speakers. If you do not have such a headset, please buy one now so you have it in time for the course)
  • Internet connection speed of at least 5 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload

Please note that if your internet connection is slow or unstable, you may not be able to hear properly during the tutorials or have difficulty participating. For this reason please make sure you can attend tutorials from a location with a good connection. If you share a connection, please ask others sharing it not to e.g. download large files or watch online videos while you’re participating.
